Side by Side was founded by Antoine d’Haussy, a French native based in Hong Kong, with over a decade’s experience in the luggage and tech bag industry. In 2017, he introduced Side by Side to the crowdfunding community and launched its first product Power Packer on Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and Makuake. In just a few months, he received the support of 9,500 backers from over 62 countries. It was incredible to see so many others believing in his vision.
Side by Side was truly born from a community who are passionate about product design and organized living.

“I grew up in France and landed on a job with one of the major computer bag companies early in my career. The job brought me to Hong Kong, where initially I made frequent business trips to. Between factory visits and client meetings, I was always working on the go and basically needed to carry my entire ‘office’ with me - chargers, cables, notebooks, stationery, power banks... but there was no one single pouch or bag that did the job.
I used to spend so much time trying to locate my stuff inside my bags because they were not organised properly. Or wasting money on yet another charger because my original one was tucked in an old suitcase that I had forgotten about. Why wasn’t there a more efficient way to organize our daily essentials and to transport them easily from one bag to another?
So I began the Side by Side journey and set out on a mission to change the way we do travel gear and everyday carry - by building a brand that is oriented around solutions. Our products are infused with thoughtful details and smart features that cater to the ever-changing needs of today’s global traveler and digital nomad.
